Final Result just came in- LAR&R Junior Matt Chezem won the Men's Prone National title with 1290.4 points, 0.9 point ahead of the Silver Medalist Spencer Upham from Washington. Matt shot 590 on Day1 and came back with 598 on Day2 secured first position into the final. He sealed the deal with a strong 102.4 points in the final. Finals in international style of competition fires 10 rounds each worth 10.9 possible points, shooters' results are announced after each shot. Matt performed his personal best in 3-position rifle on Day 2 firing 1150, putting him on 12th position in National Junior ranking. What a memorable competition for Chezem this turned out to be. Congratulations to Matt Chezem, our new National Junior Champion. Matt himself also coaches at the LAR&R Junior Division.
LAR&R's Kevin Sui took Silver Medal in the Men's 3x40 3-Position event in J2 Category with 2272 points scoring 1134 on Day 1, and 1138 on Day 2. Kevin also placed 4th place in J2 10m Air Rifle event. USA Shooting establishes three junior categories conforming to ISSF requirements: J3 is 14-years of age or younger, J2 is 15-17 years, and J1 is from 18 through 20 years of age.
LAR&R’s David Higgins also represented California well, he placed 13th in the Men’s Prone event by firing 592 and 585. David also shot well in 3x40 event on Day 1 posting 1128, but fell short on Day 2. We wish David best of luck on his future collegiate competitions at the United States Air Force Academy from June this year.
